Overcoming Alert Box Messages and Confirmations
I am testing a classic asp web app. The app contains many alert pop-up boxes and confirmations. And if these are ignored eventually it causes my tests to fail (As the confirmations are necessary for some actions to be performed).
I read the post called: How to record popup window's using silk performer? (Post600199)
And it was suggested that I do a Lower Browser emulation setting. It appeared that this worked, but only for one instance of the test. However, the nature of the my test is such that I need to drill down to a queue, grab the top entry and process it. I can't have the unique ids tied to the packets that are generated with the lower level browser settings (I would somehow need to pull dynamic id in the lower level testing). I need to use X-path to drill down to a unique object that shows up first in a queue every time, that is only based on its position in the DOM.
Basically what I am looking for is; Is there anybody that has overcome the alert pop-up issue? I am stuck and can't really create any reasonably good performance test with out a solution.
Re: Overcoming Alert Box Messages and Confirmations
I don't think I could offer anything useful without at least seeing the area of code and possibly a true log of the area with the html code.
But in general I would look at parsing the queue code (link/url?) and using the first value of the array for the subsequent post.
