Custom Data Folder
In the Settings - System - Directories section of SilkPerformer 7.3.1, there's an entry for "custom user data files". This setting does not seem to work how I would logically think it should and I'm hoping someone can explain to me how this works? Logically, I would think that if Performer cannot find a data file in the regular "user data" folder, it would then default to the "custom user data" folder to find it (similar to how the "includes" and "custom includes" work).
File commands such as FileCSVLoadGlobal do not seem to work this way -- they default to the folder the test script is located in, then the data directory, then the results directory, then the project directory. This seems to defeat the purpose of having a "custom data" folder setting, since Performer would never look there automatically (or so it seems). Can anyone explain how the Custom Data folder and setting works, or even better, if there's a way to get it to look there by default if it can't find the data file in the regular "user data" folder?
Thanks in advance,
Re: Custom Data Folder
In the project pane, make sure to add your data file in there, regardless of where it's at. In the Data File section, right click and "Add File".
I've had great luck with this model, and never needed to worry about default or custom folders.
