I have been using SilkTest for a while now I am working with Performer. The BDL scripting language just won't make sence to me at all. Can anyone guide me as to whats the best way to understand it.
Thanks in advance
Forget what you know about SilkTest and approach it fresh. The two languages are not even close to the same. BDL is pretty straightforward to me and for the most part pretty basic. I would also do some test scripts and look at the code to see if it is what you expected and if not what the difference is.
I wouldn't get too hung up on what is being recorded in BDL. I would look more closely at where your data values are being sent back. This will tell you what you need to edit to make your test more dynamic.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica">BDL is a dialect of the Pascal programming language (welcome to the 1970's!). It is actually very straightforward when you get into it. It is a procedural programming language, which is much different than the Object Oriented language that SilkTest uses.
