DBMS - Medium Level Interface - questions
I've been using SP for a while now, but this is my first foray into performance testing a db. I have searched here and read the help file and have decided that the DBMS - Medium Level Interface (MLI) provides enough control for my purposes.
Using the MLI, I can use global variables within my SQL commands. For example:
I like the flexibility of being able to insert dynamic values directly into the SQL command without Binding and Setting them (using Native Level interface. OdbcBind, OdbcSetString, etc.). I don't believe that I can use variables with any of the other Interfaces. Is this correct?
My second question is: I cannot figure out how to retrieve data from a db using the MLI. Using ODBC commands, I can do the following:
Once the SQL SELECT command is Prepared, Executed, Defined, and Fetched, you can call OdbcGetString to extract the "fetched" data. However, without using the ODBC commands, you must simply use "fetch". The help file does not detail how to then extract the "fetched" data. From the Any ideas?
Thanks in advance...

Re: DBMS - Medium Level Interface - questions
This always happens to me. I struggle for days with a problem, finally post my question, then figure out the solution on my own within 10 minutes. Anyway, if anyone else comes across the same problem, here is the solution:
The SQL command must contain the INTO call and variables to store the retrieved values. For example:
