I may be testing a Powerbuilder application in the future which I am not sure I can do using Silk Performer yet. Even if I can I am wondering how my agent machine will handle this test.
The client side of the application executes some views. This requires a large amount of memory on the client side in order to display the large amount of records that are returned at times. I am wondering how Silk Performer handles this type of test. My agent machine may only have enough memory to display the records as a single "real" user. What is going to happen when I try to simulate 100 to 500 users requesting views? Does SP even hold on to the returned data or does it just verify that it returned correctly and then throw it away?
Re: Memory Requirements
This should not make any difference to Performer which just generates the traffic. On receipt of the traffic it does measures and then essentially throws the data stream away. This is analagous to browser rendering of returned HTML, which is not considered for HTTP tests and consumes no additional resources.
