I need to use a different IP address for each VU in my loadtest. As such I have configured the system to have 50 IP addresses, rebooted and tested without any problem. I have then specified in my profile that I want to use client IP address multiplexing but I think that its not working correctly. In the help it says -
to assign individual ip addresses to vu's, you first have to set up multiple addresses for the network device. Following that you can assign each of the ip addresses to a different vu....
But it does not explain how you do this... Anyone have any ideas?
The shortest distance between two points is under construction.
So I believe it's a three step process.
First in the network TCP/IP settings you assign a bank of IP address given to you by your network guys.
Second, you go into the SP System Configuration Manager and add them in the IP Address Manager tab.
Third you need to setup your Project Profile Internet section settings to check "Client IP Address Multiplexing"
FYI, the first two steps need to be done on all your agents, whereas the third step is obviously just done in your project file.
I won't guarantee this as my various companies have always said "We need to do this" but the network guys always say "We don't have the IP addresses to give you", so I've never been able to go through the process.
