More Cookie Questions
I have been reading all of the message regarding cookies and Silk Performer and I am not sure how I can simulate our scripts for returning users based on what I have read. Each of our scripts have multiple transactions. Login, Functional Transaction1, Functional Transaction2, and Logout.
Login is the begin transaction and logout is the end transaction. Any transactions between login and logout are randomized.
We cannot select "Simulate user behavior for each transaction" in the profile settings because this resets the browser after each transaction resulting in the user not being logged in anymore.
I ran the test two ways. Once with the WebCookieSet functions and once with the functions commented out. My response times are very close for both tests.
What I am wondering is what am I really simulating? First time or returning user. If it is a first time user, how can I simulate a returning user with the way our scripts are designed.
Re: More Cookie Questions
If the cookie is your cookie, then using WebSetCookie will embed it in the header, setting the user up to look like a returning user.
If you don't set it, then, you should be getting back a new cookie. You can use WebParseResponseHeader to see what's coming back. That might help.
