    Silk Performer and Oracle

I was just wondering if anyone has used Oracle for the results repository for Performer? I am planning on attempting this next week and wondered if anyone had tried it yet? Thanks.

    Re: Silk Performer and Oracle

You can use Oracle for a results repository. Before you start, however, you need to have done the following:

    1) The ODBC driver for Oracle is installed on the PC.
    2) Get the name of the database instance that will hold the repository.
    3) Have the dba give you create/write rights on the instance.
    4) Create the DSN on the PC.

These are just some high level stuff. Some DBA's do not want other people creating new databases, so you may have to get him/her involved during the creation phase. After that, the DBA must allow your id (or the id used in the DSN) insert/update privilages.

That should do it -- I think :-)

Thanks, I'll let you know if this work out for me. I thought it was fairly simple to do but thought I better ask before I jumped into it. Thanks.

    Hi cmckie,

Are your Oracle Database working with success? I am planning doing this too. Please let me know how it goes.

    Thanks.

I am still working on it getting one of our DBAs to set up the instance.
