replay simulation settings?
Can anyone shed some more light on a few of the Replay Simulation Settings (or their equivalent functions) in SilkPerformer. In the online help and in my BDL reference, they are extremely vague in their explanations.
the ones I am referring to are:
"Smooth Transaction Arrival Rate (Queuing Workload)" - same as the 'SetSmoothArrivalRate' function. what does this do, and does this only apply to queuing workload modeled tests?
"Stop Virtual Users After Simulation Time(Queuing Workload)" - same as the 'SetCancelAfterSimTime' function. what does this do, why does it say Queuing Workload next to the option when in the online help it says it only affects tests with a Steady-State Workload?
any clarification on either of these is much appreciated...

Re: replay simulation settings?
I agree that the online help does not expain these features vey well.
From what I have seen using the features, the 'Smooth Transaction Arrival Rate' setting does indeed only apply to the queuing workload. The setting, when unchecked, causes Performer to start all the virtual users in a transaction at the same time and when unchecked the virtual users start the transaction at randomised times based on the simulation time and number of transactions.
Due to these randomised arrival rates, the test may take longer than the specified simulation time and will continue to carry out all transactions when the 'Stop Virtual Users After Simulation Time' setting remains unchecked. However, if checked it will abort the simulation when the simulation time is exceeded. From what I can see the referral to steady-state workload in the online help can include queueing workloads which have a set number of vu's.
Does anyone have any clearer definitions for these ??
