Browser Settings while recording
I am wondering if the temporary internet file settings in IE 5.0 will have any effect when I record my scripts. The setting I am looking at is "Check for newer versions of stored pages:" My question is if I select "Every visit to the page" vs "Never" will the script behave differently.
Re: Browser Settings while recording
The script should behave differently, in that the content of the viewed page may be different if the page itself has changed. The script will basically check to see if the served page has been updated. The script does not necc. do anythign different besides this document checking.
If you are testing pages that don't change very often, then selecting either option should not show anything very different between runs.
Turning the doc checking on will just give you a better assurance that you are looking at the most recent data from the server and not getting something from your user cache.
Typically, I like to turn caching off for most of my testing.
