SilkPerformer and Corba
Have anyone tested an Corba application using SilkPerformer? If you do, please give me some advice on Corba load testing (such as script modification, test execution, etc) . Record and play back just doesn't seem to be working.
Re: SilkPerformer and Corba
I have not done a great deal of CORBA load testing, but it has always worked well when I have. A few things to check first:
1. When you record do you see calls to IIOP functions in the script?
2. Have you included the IDL files for your application? (This one has caused me trouble in the past when no IDL files are available)
If you can answer yes to these, you should be able to record a test, randomize the values recorded and replay straight away. What you will not be able to do is replay this script as is if the server is restarted. To deal with this you need to look at inserting bootstrapping functions in to your script so that SilkPerformer can get the handle of the application being tested. Have a look at the CORBA tutorial in SilkPerformer. I have found it very usefull in the past. If you still cannot get things going, send me an email at firstname.lastname@example.org and I will see if I can help further.
