CPU showing higher than expected on Agent machines?
I hope this help those of you who are trying to use Segue SilkPerformer
I believe I have found the true cause of the problem. I think that this is
very very important for all users of Performer or any use of agent
computers. Please post my findings in upcoming newsletters or in future
manuals so that others will not have the same problem that is happening to
me in my testing.
For the life of me I have not been able to figure out why one of my agent
machines was reading nearly 100% cpu usage. I checked all settings to make
sure that they were the same as any other agent same cpu same everything???
Logging was the same nothing different at all. Then when I happened to be
dreaming about doing a performance test (who knows why I dream about work
and especially performance testing web servers???) I figured out that when
NT or most operating systems are not being used be a user that they usually
havea screen saver installed. Most of these screen savers use open-GL a CPU
intensive process. To prevent CPU usage from being too high either disable
screen savers on agent machines or choose a non-CPU intensive screen saver
such as blank screen. Please feel free to contact me regarding this issue.
