Connection to VMWare as agent fails

    Hi All,

I'am trying to add VMWare SP as agent. Both host and WMWare has WindowsXP-SP2, and SP 7.6. I'am able to ping from both sides,i.e. from host to virtual machine and vice-versa. But when I tried adding virtula machine as agent, it does'nt recognise its IP address. Has anyone tried this? Please help me on this.

    Thanks in advance.

Have you open the port 19200 on the agent image?

Re: Connection to VMWare as agent fails

There are many reasons why you should not consider a virtual machine as an agent, directly related to the decoupling of the virtualized system clock from the hardware system clock. The last thing you want to have happen is have the virtual clock play "catch up" in the middle of a timing record and throw your app response times out of spec.

You may want to do some more research before heading down this path.

Re: Connection to VMWare as agent fails

    Hi James,

Thank you. I had read about using virtual machine to run the test will skew the results since it will distribute the resources of the host machine. I was just trying to add as a agent.I'am not going to run any tests on it. Do you have any idea what must be the cause for failing connection as agent?
