Sorry if I'm posting in the wrong forum but this seems to be the closest match.
Has anybody successfully installed the Performance Manager 2.9 under MS SQL Server 2005?
There's no reference in the docs claiming that the 2005 version is supported but it's hard to believe there's no workaround.
It was dropped on my desk and I've spent a day and a half trying to setup its database.
I managed to get past the DB creation phase but it's unable to create the required tables.
I get this:
Creating tables failed: [TEST-SERVER]The incoming tabular data stream (TDS) remote procedure call (RPC) protocol stream is incorrect. Parameter 5 (""): Data type 0x32 is unknown.
It certainly looks like a compatibility problem.
I went in and changed the database to be v2000-compatible but it didn't make a difference.
I've read all relevant documents in the Segue Knowledge Base I could find but no luck.
The setup went fine on our only machine with SQL Server 2000 on it by he way.
Re: SilkCentral Performance Manager and MS SQL 2005
Just as an FYI in the future this would probably fit better under the SilkPerformer forum. I believe you would do better to open a ticket with Borland support on this (if you have not already) I am using SQL server 8.0 with no issues.
But in the end doesn't it all come down to BEER? Beer is the ultimate answer to all questions in the universe so yes the answer to your question is BEER.
