Is JMeter only suitable for small-scale tests like:
to test if some request can handle 50 VUs for a while
I tried to run like 100 VUs (threads) and was planning to keep the test active for an hour or so - to see if the SUT showed any weird behaviour.
Well, it seemed that JMeter was the one that was starting to act weird. It at all my memory. My heap was set to 256 and I changed it to 512, but even that was too little.
Is this normal with JMeter? That it eats memory like Homer eats donuts?
Or does JMeter perform better in Linux than Windows XP Professional? Or is my JRE1.5 not good enough? Is there a better JRE available?
Or... Is JMeter just the wrong tool for me? A tool that can't handle very big or long tests...
