Response Time vs Elapsed Time in Graph
I have generated a ResponseTimesOverTime Graph and it displayed the results in X-Axis and Y-Axis with labels Elapsed Time and Response Time respectively.
I am looking for the explanation of these two terms i.e. Elapsed Time and Response Time
I've done a lot of search on internet and found the bookish definition everywhere like "Elapsed Time: Time from just before sending the request to just after the last response has been received".
Please elaborate the definition with some examples which could help me in understanding these terms.
Elapsed time is the time elapsed from the start of the test. So RTOT graph shows you the response times at various instances of the test duration.
One possible scenario is that your network speed is very slow.It costs you 10 seconds to get results from Google after clicking the search button, while Google only need 1 second to prepare the results. So the 10 seconds long time is elapsed time, while the 1 second long time is response time.
Response time is the time taken by the server to respond..
