Im a newbie to load testing and jmeter and could do with a little help please. To cut a long story short i've inherited load testing at my work and have been left with very little info so im trying to find my feet. My predecessor used an old version of spirent which i have scripts for but the company wants to move to jmeter for many reasons.
One of the things i am struggling with is handling viewstates for our ecommerce site. With spirent I do the following:
1. Add a search criteria called VS1, which has prefix (__VIEWSTATE"value=") for the start of the viewstate and a postfix ("/>). post occurance is '1'.
2. Add the following to the first GET statement in the script "ASSIGN VARIABLE <viewstate VS1 1 BODY>" This creates a local variable called viewstate.
3. Replace each view state (only the bit between the prefix and postfix tags) with <APPLY URLENC viewstate>.
What I need to do is replicate this is in jmeter if possible (and if what ive written makes any sense!)
