Dynamic parameter values in http put request
I have a JMeter plan for Restful web service testing. The plan comprises of HTTP put request and I send parameter values in specific xml format accepted by API.
Of late I was asked to not hard code parameter values in put request and have it fetched from data base run time.
I searched through resources and found that csv file can be used for parameterization but then is it possible to query data base during Jmeter test run time and supply it as HTTP put request to JMeter.
Re: Dynamic parameter values in http put request
Jmeter parameterization is all about scoping.
Designate a token that references your CSV file at the very top (thread parameters)
Add a csv config module under the beaker. The csv module will have a field that specifies parameters. That's how you create dynamic variables, and seed them in your http samplers.
By tokenizing/paramtertizing the csv reference, you can switch csv files easily.
