Running a recorded test for randomly values
I am carrying out a performance test where I have identified my scenario and recorded it using JMeter. e.g. Generating a 9 digit value and saving it. I am then running it for 500 users and 20 instances. But each time the test is run a unique random 9 digit value has to be generated. Is there any way I can do this in JMeter.. as when I record it I am entering a 9 digit value, but this same value shouldn't be used over and over again. When the test is executed with each user and instance a different 9 digit value should be used. is THAT possible in JMETER?

Will give you something like this: 13111546226151
It is always unique in the context of a single testplan but might (very rarely) not be unique with isolated separate instances. You can trim off leading chars to get the length you need.
If absolute uniqueness is essential (doubtful) you would need to use a database holding a simple table_id and a stored proc to increment to it.
If the string can be alphanumeric then you can use base32 encoding to shorten it.
