I am new to JMeter and performance testing. I have created a testplan to test the performance of an application installed remotely. I ran the same testplan to test the same application installed on a local server.
The performance numbers of the application when installed remotely is much greater when compared to those when the application is installed locally. (when tested using JMeter)
However, the manual performance test numbers is close to JMeter test numbers for application installed remotely.
But, manual test numbers is very high compared to the Jmeter test numbers for application installed locally.
I assumed this was becoz JMeter results doesnot account for Page Load. But if the above statement is true, then why is manual test numbers close to JMeter test numbers for application installed remotely? Could anyone please provide some explanation on this?
Re: JMeter Results
Performance numbers depends on number of factors. Few of them are as follows:
- configuration server on which the application is deployed
- Network speed
Now, I assume the remote servers are accessed through internet. Therefore the netowrk used is internet and so the result will depend on internet bandwidth. Also, network disturbances will be high when compared to local server.
This is considering the server configurations are same.
But if the server configuration are different then also the performance counters will differ.
