    JMeter Reg Expression Extractor not pulling param

    In JMeter, have inserted a Regular Expression Extractor, the Regular Expression Below:
    PG_File=([a-z]+.mht)

    I'm trying to get the (dynamic of course!) file name from this statement within html/java script:

    /ibi_apps/WFServlet PG_REQTYPE=REDIRECT&PG_MRsaved=false&PG_Fu nc=GETBINARY&PG_File=jymiymdb.mht");

    It's not capturing the file name at all.

    Is there something else I should be looking at?

    Thanks!

    Re: JMeter Reg Expression Extractor not pulling param

    Hi,

    You can try with this regular expression:

    PG_File=([^\.].*).mht

    You can lear more about regular expressions here:
    http://www.cs.tut.fi/~jkorpela/perl/regexp.html

    And, then you can test your regular expression here:
    http://osteele.com/tools/rework/

    In your test could be helpful add some Debug Sampler to check the value extracted:
    http://jakarta.apache.org/jmeter/use...#Debug_Sampler

    I hope it helps.

    Re: JMeter Reg Expression Extractor not pulling param

    Jose:

    Thanks for the info. I tried yours, its not picking it up. This seems to be a deeper problem than regular expression. The "fiddler" package can see the output but JMeter can't.

    Thanks Again...I have more digging to do!

    Re: JMeter Reg Expression Extractor not pulling param

    Where did you put the Regular Expression Extractor? It should be as a child of the request that gives the response with the file name.

    The regular expression seems fine. With this, it should give back something:
    PG_File=(.*)"\);

    Re: JMeter Reg Expression Extractor not pulling param

    I'm fine now.

    an earlier problem was blocking the server from sending the file name, and now I can get this

    Thanks to All
