samples and hits/sec
i need to create a report or a graph that shows hit/sec throughout the duration of my stress test. As far as i can see there no such thing on Jmeter, however I have the impression that hits on jmeter are the samples ..please correct me if i'm wrong.
Re: samples and hits/sec
Could be correct if your test ran entire OK, but it's possible for samples to get lost (exceptions in the sampler post-processing or a bug in the listener). So you can have 50 samples but your test plan did 70 hits, where 20 request couldn't completes.
You can use the Throughput, because it is calculated from the point of view of the sampler target, so doesn't matter if some samples couldn't complete.
Throughput= Samples/Unit of time (minutes)
In the Throughput take care with the time, because JMeter takes into account the total time over which the requests have been generated, if other samplers and timers are in the same thread, these will increase the total time, and therefore reduce the throughput value.
I hope it helps.
