~Load Testing Web application accessible via VPN~
I am a newbie to JMeter (to Load Testing as well). My requirement is to find the maximum number of users (Capacity) that the AUT can handle. Currently, I am trying to find the feasibility of different Open Source tools such as JMeter, webLOAD & openSTA that can suit the requirement.
The AUT is a web application that can be accessible only through VPN.
I tried to record the actions in the AUT after connecting to the VPN, and nothing got recorded.
Where as, when I tried to record actions in any site when not connected to the VPN, the issue does not exist.
<I created a Thread Group, HTTP Request Defaults & Aggregate Report under the Test Plan and also a HTTP Proxy Server under the Workbench, linked to the Test Plan.>
Please let me know how to overcome this issue; will JMeter supports VPN accessibility; is there any other alternate tool that can be used for my requirement.
Re: ~Load Testing Web application accessible via VPN~
well webload is no longer free, radview ended open source part.
you could try following.
use firefox and use live http headers. after conneting to application. there you should see what is sended to server.
then use copy paste.
I don't have experience of testing thru vpn, because it is recomended that load generator is as close as possible to target server. then impact of network is minimal.
You could ask if there is machine next to target server where you could install jmeter and then you could connect to that server thru VPN. then impact of VPN would not be affecting response times and security would not be compromised
