Best browser / settings for SpiraTest?
I've just switched from using IE7 to Firefox 3.5 for SpiraTest v2.2 and found a dramatic improvement in the speed of navigation, (e.g. moving between text boxes or expanding folder lists.)
I'm sure some people will be thinking 'It's bound to be faster, it's a newer browser'. But the improvement for SpiraTest seems far more dramatic than for any other browser-based tools I use.
This has made me wonder whether there are any optimal settings in IE for SpiraTest, as unfortunately some of our users are not able to install Firefox.
Re: Best browser / settings for SpiraTest?
SpiraTest is an AJAX based web application and some of the browsers are faster than others in dealing with AJAX. We have found that IE8 is faster than IE7/6 and Firefox, Chrome, Safari and Opera are all faster than IE in rendering AJAX applications. The speed difference is mainly due to the fact that IE's Trident rendering engine is particularly slow in handling AJAX DOM operations.
