There is also Visual Test 6.0, which IBM/Rational still supports I think. Tom also wrote a book on it.
I think one thing you could do is look into using VB instead. Visual Basic for Testers by Mary Sweeney(http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/AS...107947-5051141) is an excellent reference on how to use VB6 (and beginings of VB.Net) for testing. Also, look at the VBScript reference over at MSDN (www.msdn.com). I have used both VB and VBScript to build some great little routines to aid in my automated testing.
