Class names For Windows
This is more of a Windows programming question, but perhaps some of you have run up against a similar issue, so here it goes.
All of the Windows (or sections) within the application I am developing test suite's for lack Class names. This application was recently ported from OS/2 to NT & the GUI is written in C++. When using the Winfo utility or asking VT to return information on the current Class I get a number back. The same number is in use throughout the entire UI.
Does anyone know how to place the proper hooks within the C++ code to identify the Class name of the current Window (Or Section) so that the Class Name can be accessed within VT?
Re: Class names For Windows
If the number being returned is #32770 this is a dialog class. In this case use the title of the dialog. The dialog class is generic.
A more difficult solution is to capture the handle of each window as it is created and to use this for access.
Hope this helps.
