iteration count in testmanager
m doing performance test for GUI Script
Need some clarification on the Runtime settings of the Test manager
1. Is there any option to set the Iteration count to infinite so that i can run the test for two to three days
Need your help
Re: iteration count in testmanager
no Infinity is not possible. If 32767 iterations is really not long enough then put 7 or 8 copies in a suite each with 32767 iterations.
That should give you more than enough iterations to fill 2 or 3 days.
I assume each iteration takes more than a second to run.
Alternatively, if your suites are not very deeply nested already, you could just make a suite with 32767 iterations and then call that suite from a suite with 32767 iterations.
That would give you 1073676289 iterations, or about 34 years at 1 second per iteration.
A warning from experience.
Running scripts with VPs repeatedly for a long time can be bad for robot & testmanagers stability & for your disk space.
Most VPs create a small new file for each run of a VP. When Test manager has to deal with thousands of these it can really slow down or crash. Also explorer doesn't deal well with directories containing thousands of files.
Each file may only take up a few bytes, but the minimum block size of your file system is probably 4K or more. 262144 1 bit files take up a gigabyte of diskspace. If your suite had 100 vps then 2621 iterations will take up more than a gigabyte in vp files alone.
