I just downloaded trial version of Clearquest 7.0. I am interested mainly in Testmanager suite. I do not see the in built 'Manual Test'(not Manula tester too) tool used for authoring test cases. I was told testmanager comes with an inbuild manual test tool which can be used to write testcases. I checked in designer and I see that CQTM ver 1.0 package is already applied ot the 'Enterprise shcema'.
Am I missing some step?
i think you are referring to the original (standalone) test manager from rational, which does come with manual testing built-in. the new test manager from rational, built into and free with clearquest, integrates with RMT (rational manual tester).
Regarding the standalone Test Manager software, and the Test Manager function in ClearQuest, I have emailed IBM/Rational for clarification but with no reply yet. Does anyone know if the intention is to drop Test Manager and only deliver the functionality in ClearQuest?
I donwloaded CQTM 7.0 trial too, set up a trial CQ schema, and added TM packages to it (2.1). CQTM looks nice, but I dont know the following yet:
- How to add a test case to a CQ item? How to connect them together?
- I could not design a test case, test steps. I dont know how. In former Standalone TestManager, there is an option to design test steps and verification points in that tool. Now it is not available, at least I could not find the way yet.
- Is anyone an already active user of CQTM out there?
