Performance and load tests directly against SQL Server
Our team has a need to run performance and load tests directly against SQL Server 2000 based on a predefined set of query requirements. We're required to use product(s) from Rational's suite of tools and we have a question what Rational tool can we use to test directly against SQL Server 2000 (dblib, oledb, or odbc)? Rational Robot? If Robot, is Test Manager or any other Rational tool necessary as well?
Any help would be appreciated.
Re: Performance and load tests directly against SQL Server
In order to avoid syntax issues or simply incorrect coding because of manual scripting, you might consider to put your queries through a tool (Toad or SQLPlus, for instance) and then record the running of this tool and the queries going through it. You should then get correct script content, which you could copy/paste into other scripts as you see fit.
Just an idea. I'm in MD/VA on occasion, let me know if you want any on-site help.
