I am finding it difficult to understand the usergroups and scenario listed in the test manager. Why are they listed separately? why do we have to create another usergroup under scenario ? why cant we make use of the same usergroup that we create under the parent usergroup hierarchy ?
Since I am new to test manager, the Load runner interface seems to be much more easy when compared to the test manager. In loadrunner in that session, we can add scripts and then assign the user groups running the scripts. Somehow, I am not able to understand how to perform this simple task using test manager.
Also, do we have any "Extended log message" option as in loadrunner in test manager. This enables us to view the data being used by the users(coming from the datapools) and also the messages from the server. Do we have that of extended log option where in we can see if the values setup in the datapool are really being used by the virtual users ?
I am not able to answer you the first question. However, I think I would be able to provide a solution for the second question posted.
If you are using VU scripts then you should be able to use log_msg function to store any value into the test log. It will appear as an message entry in the test log as oppose to Emulation Command entry. I use it to display the datapool values used for each of my virtual users and for troubleshooting purposes.
