Build transmittal for testing in Rational Test Studio
We are developing an ERP application for our group company which consist of 10 integrated modules.
When the question of transmittal of units / builds arose, the Project Manager argues that there is no need for adopting a Build testing approach in this case. He wants to give the entire one Module together for testing. I disagree with him.
Please guide me what approach to be taken. If progressive builds are to be made what kind of approach should we take.
Thanks in anticipation.
Re: Build transmittal for testing in Rational Test Studio
Do I understand you correctly if I say that you want to test the modules first (with unit testing for example) and the project manager want to take the complete application and do a full regression test?
Both can be the right way. A unit test on the several modules can be very good, but time consuming. A complete regression test on the whole product is a step you have to do anyway. So testing the modules one by one and afterwards testing them as a whole, takes more time and if you have that time, it is no problem at all and a better way to go!
But correct me if I am wrong... :-)
