    using datapools with listView object

    I am trying to use a datapool with a listview object, the code i am using is
    ListView Click, "ObjectIndex=1;\;ItemText=" + SQADatapoolValue (dp, 1, tcStepImp) + "", "Coords=18,16"

    The error I get when I tried to compile this the error I am getting is

    Error: Type mismatch
    Error: Illegal arguments to addition
    Error: Type mismatch, parameter 2 in subprogram 'ListView'

    I have defined tcStepImp as STring Constant in datapool the data in column 1 is a string.

    Use "&" instead of "+" and Remove [""]

    <font class="small">Code:</font><hr /><pre>
    ListView Click, "ObjectIndex=1;\;ItemText=" &amp; SQADatapoolValue (dp, 1, tcStepImp) , "Coords=18,16"
    </pre><hr />

    rationalrobot1015,
    Let us know your clear requirement. What you want to do with ListView.
    If you want to select any data from Listview, Make sure that you are passing exact data which is present in the List view from Datapool.

    Example code

    <font class="small">Code:</font><hr /><pre>
    ListView Click, "ObjectIndex=1;ItemText=Table 541245" ,""
    </pre><hr />

    Re: using datapools with listView object

    I think I was not clear in my previous post, when I record here is what I get
    ListView DblClick, "ObjectIndex=1;\;ItemText=Imports", "Coords=27,9"

    The itemText value is what will be there datapool and it the vlaue will keep changing,

    I tried to use the following way to parametrize the itemText

    ListView Click, "ObjectIndex=1;\;ItemText=" &amp; SQADatapoolValue (dp, 1, tcStepImp) , "Coords=18,16"

    When I run this I get an error
    ListView Click, "ObjectIndex=1;\"itemText=0","Coords=18,16"
    itemText 0 was not found

    Thanks

    Re: using datapools with listView object

    Is that ItemIndex or ItemText, In Listview you can select the ListView Data by using ItemText as well as ItemIndex.
    <font class="small">Code:</font><hr /><pre>

    Using ItemText

    ListView Click, "ObjectIndex=1;ItemText=Table 541245" ,""

    Using ItemIndex

    ListView Click, "ObjectIndex=1;ItemIndex=0" ,""

    Index Starts with 0

    </pre><hr />

    SQADatapoolValue returns a status
    The value you are looking for is in the variable tcStepImp after the call.
    So do this instead

    <font class="small">Code:</font><hr /><pre>SQADatapoolValue (dp, 1, tcStepImp)
    ListView Click, "ObjectIndex=1;\;ItemText=" &amp; tcStepImp , "Coords=18,16"
    </pre><hr />

    Re: using datapools with listView object

    Thanks for all the help,
    x = SQADatapoolValue (dp, 1, tcStepImp)
    if (x = 0) Then
    ListView Click, "ObjectIndex=1;\;ItemText=" + tcstep + "", "Coords=18,16"

    endif
