When we playback a Robot GUI script the following failure message is shown:
'Object was found but is not visible within its parent'
The HTML page being tested contains a scroll bar because of the number of controls. The object that it is looking for is a checkbox that is not currently visible. Is Robot not able to execute a user action on a control that is outside the viewable area of the page? Is there a way around this behavior?
Hi I have a similar problem here with Robot 7(with IE 7 fix installed). For the basic objects such as EditBox and PushButton, the robot is giving an error "Object was found but is not visible to its parent" when it is trying to click on them. How do I force the robot to be able to view them? Does anyone has a similar problem with IE7 after the fix for it is installed?
I am facing the same problem... I have Robot7 and IE7 where even simple edit boxes are not recognised <while playbaack alone> and the error message "object was found but is not visible within its parent" is displayed.
Have you got any resolution for this issue by this time ?
What I did was, to degrade to IE6
We have had a PMR open with IBM since we migrated to IE7 back in August 2008, the Robot Engineers have yet to find a solution although we have had many discussions and webmeetings. Suggest you contact IBM and request a PMR to find a solution to this issue.
You can reference existing IBM PMR 68223,500,000 when requesting assistance.
Good luck and please post any solution you may find.
BTW, the SQAScrollIntoView registry setting does not resolve this issue, but does make your app do some really funny things.
