1. It is possible to dump test execution log to a file located on remote machine (say after every 2 hours)? The intention is to view the log during the suite execution, as the suite execution takes more than 18 hours. Looking at the log it should be possible for us to decide on continue suite execution or stop it, and we will get results after short intervals of 2 hour rather than at the end of 18 hours.
2. Is it possible to export a test execution log to a excel spreadsheet or word document? Our client has not installed Rational Test Manager at their end, and they want to view a log. Is there any alternative to help them?
The only thing I can think of that might work is if you incorporate something into your test suite that would essentially create another log or modify a file while your tests are running to show progress/failures.
To the best of my knowledge there's not a way to view your execution log until your test has completed.
No there is no such utility to export log while test is running.
Only solution is to write log messages to a remote file in a script, and we can view log file while suite is running. (not a good solution )
