Robot with Release 7.0

Hello,

Has anyone upgraded to Rational 7.0 and if so, how is Robot working? Our concern is that it's not sybase compatible anymore, so we were wondering what db engine you're using (DB2, oracle) and if you had to convert.

thanks, mark

Re: Robot with Release 7.0

We're currently looking into this, but I am finding it very difficult to find any documents on the IBM website that actually refer to 7.0 upgrades, Robot and TestManager. I searched the documentation library without success.

Did you find any other information?

Thanks,

Alex

Re: Robot with Release 7.0

SQL Anywhere support has been dropped in version 7.
This means you have to use Access (uhhh) or DB2.

The problem with DB2 is that you have to install the DB2 client on all client machines and setup a different database connection manually for EVERY rational project you use.

As a company, we found this completley unacceptable and not manageable so our Rational Admin bod has raised a high priority request with Rational to ask for SQL support for V7.
Hope this helps....

Re: Robot with Release 7.0

Hi,

I've created Robot Project using DB2.
What is the use of DB2?
Is it means more than one person can access the same project simultaneously?
Other than this what is the use of DB2.
Thanks
