Has anyone tries running Robot scripts on Windows 2003 server?
On IBM-Rational Robot site, Win 2003 server is listed as one of the supported system.
However, I am able to run my script on the Win 2003 server while it runs perfectly fine on a XP machine.
I am running the same script on the same application.
Also, I got an error when I open Test Manager. It said it does not support on this OS (something like that).
I am using the Rational Test Suite version ended with 06.XXX.18 (forget the numbers in the middle)
Depends where it's failing. If it's object recognition then that would be unexpected. If it's e.g. a WindowVP(CompareImage, "caption=ThisWindow", "VP=MyWindowVP") then that's hardly surprising...
It's life Jim, but not as we know it
I don't have any VP in the script.
I think it's failing on object recognition.
I'm running 2003.06.00.15 of TeamTest, that shouldn't be too different (since yours is apparently a later version - unless it's a version of 2002.x.x.x?) Also, I got an error when I open Test Manager. It said it does not support on this OS (something like that). <font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica">Does that mean when the script fails the test log won't open either? I suggest you open a PMR with Rational Support for the compatibility problem...
Did you check whether the options in Tools/General, Tools/GUI Record & Tools/GUI Playback are the same in both installations...?
Double check that version and let us know what it is.
Sorry for the delay.
I am using v2003.06.15 Test SuiteStudio
I agree; 2003.06.15 should run on 2003 server so you probably should give the support guys a call.
If they fix the problem, let us know how they did (and even what was wrong?)
