Robot configuration problems
Here's what I am seeing with Robot and TestManager:
I spent weeks on several comprehensive Robot Scripts on my cubicle machine. I did not set these up as a suite. They are just 3 separate scripts. I had to move to a different machine so I copied the scripts locally.
While trying to launch these scripts, I get several errors having to do with locked files, logs that cannot be written to because Robot says they are in use. I cannot compile because Robot cannot create an output file.
I am stuck.
Can someone help me sort out a very simple method of opening the existing scripts, compiling them and logging results? I am not understanding why there are so many obstacles to compiling and running a simple recorded script - especially when all files are resident locally and not in use.
I tried to just start all over again by clicking New / Script and copy the text portion of the script into a new script, but when I tried this I get a file is locked error. It has to be simpler than this.
Thanks in advance for speedy feedback.
Re: Robot configuration problems
If there aren't many scripts, I would just reinstall Robot from scratch and open the old script files with notepad and copy the contents into your new script. I can't remember the extension name, but there is one particular type of file that contains your script in plain text. This won't work for your verification points, though. Also, try looking for lock files within your script directory and delete them.
The correct way to do this would be to export the test datastore from your old computer and import it into your new one instead of a file copy.
