Please can anyone let me know how we can create an .exe file for the Automated scripts so that it is very much useful for giving a Demo to the client and it will run anywhere without the Robot installed in the machine.
Robot likes to hide/compress/bundle all its scripts together into its Projects, and theres no easily visible way of extracting thoose scripts from the project, nor compiling them and saving the compiled script to somewhere else. Even if you could get the scripts exported to seperate files, im pretty sure no other program could compile it anyway.
While there may still be a way to make an executable, i know not of it.
Instead, try playing with the Rational Agent that comes with robot. You can probably seperate it from the rest of the software package, send that to your client(with instructions to only use it for the next 5 minutes, because it can be used maliciously)
then use testmanager to run a script on their computer from yours, and they can just sit back and watch. Not sure if your licence lets you legally do this or not.
You could also use the Remote desktop feature that comes with windows xp, but that would also be potentially compromising their security as well.
You dont have to do anything to seperate testagent from robot, you can get your client to just download it from the IBM website (good luck finding it) and install it on their system, then you can run any example scripts your heart desires
You should be able to install JUST testagent, without robot
