Probably it could be because you are trying to record an object which is unknow or which cannot be recognised by robot by default. There could be some unknown or non-standard objects which cannot be recognised by Robot by default. In that case, before recording , you need to define or map those unknown objects to a generic object type in a configuration. If its still not clear, you can always reach me at email@example.com
Hi Tantya, Robot should always be able to see an object, even if it doesn't recognise what that object is, so I'm rather confused about it.
If it doesn't recognise the objects in you application, it should at least recognise the window of the application, and the data captured would then just be the window's caption title.
For objects that are seen but not well recognised, it is possible that it claims that the object contains no data (even though it visibly does). Is that not the error you are seing ?
Please describe what application you are testing and what kind of control you want to capture the data of.
There are no necessary steps or definitions to be done _before_ doing an object data VP.
