    importing & exporting test scripts

    Hello every body,
I am new user of rational robot. I made some scripts which I want to export to another system. I also want to import scripts made by others on which are on a different system. I have not made it a project as such. The scripts are directly under the default
folder "DefaultTestScriptDatastore". Right now I am just copying this folder to another system. This is ok for now but in the long run will be a huge problem. I will be glad if some body answered my query. My robo version is 2003.

PS: I did try "Search" but could not get a lot of help on this.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Brain,

Visit the following link to access the relevant thread:

You need to create a test case in TestManager and then associate the script to it. Now you can export the test case and import on other machine.

    Hope this will help you.

Re: importing & exporting test scripts

I would recommend creating a common project area. Make sure you put this on a shared network resource and specify the network path when creating the project if you're using v2002 or v2003 and the access database option (even if its on your local system). Its not required to associate anything in TestManager to do this. When you create a new project, there are options to initialize assets from another project. I've never tried this myself; if you need more help try a search in the forum. There have been posts in the past about how to export your scripts to another project. If you don't have too many of them, you can just copy/paste into new scripts in the new project if you find the export/import process difficult.
