Robot - FileCopy
Robot's help describes a FileCopy as declaring the old and new files...
"Dim oldfile, newfile"
...then doing the actual work in the script:
However, I'm getting: "2bd.rec(4) Error: Illegal redefinition of '\'" when trying to "Dim \\[NetworkPath]\[Folder on Network]\FileName, c:\FileName.
If I don't want to use the Letter the Drive is mapped to, how can I accomplish this Dim and FileCopy?
Re: Robot - FileCopy
hi, maybe it's just your syntax with declaring variables and assigning values to them not quite right?
Dim oldfile, newfile as String
'substitute your details for <path> and <folder> into the strings below
and see how it goes. I don't have Robot in front of me so I can't try it myself - I can't remember how it might handle the \ in the string and worry it may interpret it as an escape character.
If it doesn't work I suggest doing a simpler case (e.g. with both files on a local disk) until you've got the copy step actually working, then go for the network path case after.
hope this helps
