I have developed the scripts in my machine. When I ported the scripts to different machines and tried to add through the administrator and say connect it says it is locked by another user, also I am not able to integrate only the script file from another machine.
Is there any settings file which I can create in my machine and run the same in another machine so that the settings are done and I am able to run the same in another machine.
Also, can anyone tell me what are the files which I need to transfer because when i create a script file, there are too many files of the same name with different file type has been created.
Bascially, I will be created .sbh, .sbl and script file. Please guide me.
What I do is create a share on my computer and then create my project in that shared folder \\computer\share instead of locally c:\share. Maybe this is what you're doing, but I've never had the locking issue you're talking about. To copy a project to another computer, just create a new project there. During the creation of your project, a window appears with 3 edit boxes with some kind of option to get the settings or options from another location. Specify your shared folder and it will grab all the project files from there and create a local copy.
As suggested by Bryan, you need to create project if you want to access it from multiple machines. Well if you want to have a script with VPs into another project then follow the following steps:
1. Associate the test script with a test case in TestManager.
2. Export the test case.
3. Import the test case in required repository.
Note that you cannot export scripts directly.
