startApplication differences from startBrowser
I am using startApplication instead of startBrowser because startBrowser is causing DNS errors in our Standard Operating Environment (SOE), so I launch the exe directly.
The problem is that setting of context and newpage detections are both not handled exactly the same as when using startBrowser. This is causing a great headache. For example:
startApplication "C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\IEXPLORE.exe"
browser newpage, "", ""
window setContext, "currentWindow", ""
This works fine on first pass, but then after closing all browser windows, reading next record from the datapool and executing the above code again, it does not detect the browser newpage.
There are other examples.
Does anyone know if the details of using startApplication to launch a browser is documented anywhere?
