unique object id\'s
in our application an object is created that is laterreferenced by use of a checkbox, an unique id is created, if I run the script in a different order the id for the checkbox is different resulting in an error in test manager, is there a way that i can pass in the id into the another script when it has been created - possible use of a datapool ?
Re: unique object id\'s
Yes you can do it, GUI or VU? You won't be using datapools, what you will be doing concpetually is this..
if GUI - on the page the ID first appears, use Robot to view source, select all, copy, open notepad, paste, use string commands to find the id and copy it into a variable, then pass the variable around as needed...If you are really lucky you might be able to do it without notepad and somehow use the DOM (article is due out on RDN soon about how to do this).
If VU, just search for the ID in the _response file and put it into a variable, then search/replace the value for the variable in the script.
