Testing Sorting functionality on the web page
In my Web Application records are dispalyed in a Html table which has a sorting facility on the Column Heading, clicking the
appropriate image(asc or Desc) it displays the records in Asc or Desc format. the Basic sorting function is done in the back
end and the resultant data is rendered in the HTML page. The problem is how can i test the functionality that when I sort on
a column it is actually displaying the records in the sorted order. As I cannot use VP as the records displayed in the table
is not the same for every playback.

Re: Testing Sorting functionality on the web page
Here is one way. Most likely that the contents of the column being sorted come from a database. From the Robot script, connect to the same database and fetch the contents into an array etc by excuting the same SQL query (using the various SQL* insructions) to get the expected set. Next use IE DHTML to get the actual displayed contents of the HTML table column. Then compare the two.
