I have been having some people ask me about recording in robot and I wanted to see what some of you might think. :: What is wrong with recording is that if you record something and then something changes in your program you will pretty much have to go back and rerecord. Also I think that if all you do is record then you are not using close to any of robot because it can do so much more. We have got down to hardly not using any of the fuctions that robot has we have made our own set window context and all the way to setting edit text boxes. The only thing i see recording is good for is mabey having a good fast way to find out the id of an object. your opinions are appriciated.

Personally, I always start by recording, then manually editing the script to something that looks almost nothing like the initial recording. For me, it is a quick and easy place to start, mostly for navigation and organization purposes. Especially early on. After scripting against a certain application for a while, it often becomes faster to just write the script from scratch.
