Newbie: How do I grab textbox value from a Peoplesoft panel
I'm new to SQARobot. I've used it to write scripts to convert legacy data into Peoplesoft Student Administration. Perhaps 500k rows so far into various records.
I'm writing a routine (Transcript Requests) where at the end of the process, the panel is saved and then Peoplesoft fills in a Request Number field with a system supplied number.
Now all I'm trying to do is grab that number...assign it to a variable(?) and save it along with a couple other variables into a text file. I am positive Robot should be able to do it...but I'm not having much luck with Online help. I've tried SQAGET.... but freely admit I dont know what I'm doing. Can anyone help with some sample code?
This forum seems like a great resource...even if it's a little to technical for me right now. My goal for the summer is to read every post here.
Re: Newbie: How do I grab textbox value from a Peoplesoft panel
Use SQAGetProperty function. Like:
SQAGetProperty(recMethod$, property$, xx)
Recmethod means textbox name or objectindex.
property means property of the textbox deals with value.
xx is the variable where the value is stored.
