Alla .....
I checked my verification point and it already defaults to 'By Key/Value'.
I highlighted the two columns I wanted and re-ran the VP immediately after
recording it. The VP failed according to the test log. Also, when I look
at the comparator, all the other columns are still there but only the two I
selected are "green". I assume this is correct although I expected the
unselected columns to be gone.
Thanks, Joyce

I'm using Robot v2001a, TestManager v2001 and PowerBuilder v6.5.

My problem is that when I do an "Object Data" verification point, I'm
getting back a column (in the comparator) for every field on the
application screen instead of just the field I was recording against. For
example: I do object data vp on the "member id number" field and get 35
columns instead of the two, "mem_id" and "mem_uid" fields, that I should.

I checked with our in-house guru and he said nothing has changed with
PowerBuilder since we started using Robot 3 years ago.
I just had my TeamTest version upgraded from 2000 to 2001A in January and
that is when I noticed the additional data columns showing up. The other
interesting item is that the comparator will show the VP passing but the
test log shows it failing. I did install the teststudio patch.

Any help would be appreciated!

When you record the VP, you should highlight only the field(s) that you
need to verify. ALso, in Verification Method, select 'By Key/Value'
instead of 'By Location'.
