e-mail using Robot when an application is not accessible.
We are having a need wherein we want to monitor the web application hosted by us with an ASP.
We want to have a Robot script that can be put in the scheduler to run every "x" hours and see whether the application is accessible.
We want to have a mail sent if the application is not accessible.
Does any one know whether we can leverage Robot to send the mail (does it have any functions), when the application is not accessible?

If you can connect to an SMTP server, the simplest way to send email from
within Robot scripts is to use the vbSendMail utility. Sending a message
becomes as simple as:
'* Invoke the sendmail object
Set objSendMail = CreateObject("vbSendMail.clsSendMail")
'* Send email via SMTP
.SMTPHost = "mail.host.com"
.From = "firstname.lastname@example.org"
.FromDisplayName = "Sender Name"
.Recipient = "email@example.com"
.RecipientDisplayName = "Receiver Name"
.ReplyToAddress = "firstname.lastname@example.org"
.Subject = "Test message"
.Attachment = "d:\test\filename.ext"
.Message = "This is the vbSendMail test message"
The utility, and a sample script that demonstrates some of its other functions, including determining the local SMTP server, can be found at -
