I am testing a VB application and i need to caputure a numeric value that is embedded in the caption of the dialog. Suppose the caption is " New Form -1234" . I need to capture the value 1234 only into a variable and use it in my code .
Is there any way i could do that.
I hope my question is clear
Cannot understand why this has not been replied to..ok here goes....
If the data itself cannot be captured using a DataVP or a ObjectVP (and a value or text property within it), then you may only be able to use a screen grab to a bitmap using the imageVP. Then use the OCR facility to select and recognise the text (which is then saved in the temp directory I think) and use this resulting file to read the text from.
Hope this helps.

Use the SQAGetProperty command to retrieve the window caption.
